Things We Like
Could be Better
The Renault Triber has made its mark in India by offering a compact car with true 7-seater capacity. It suits families who want extra space for special occasions without spending on a bigger, costlier MPV. With the 2025 update, Renault has improved its design, added more safety features, and enhanced the cabin, all while keeping it practical, affordable, and value-packed.
The updated Renault Triber looks bolder on the road with a new front grille, bonnet lines, and projector headlamps with LED DRLs. A reprofiled bumper, dual-tone roof, and 15-inch flex wheels add a premium touch. Its proportions fit well within the sub-4 meter size, blending city style with a hint of ruggedness.
The ride of the Triber is Indian road condition-calibrated. The suspension can deal with potholes and speed breakers, and is compliant for city streets as well as highway cruising. High ground clearance (182 mm) is a blessing because, despite carrying passengers and bags heavily, the vehicle never grazes on bumpy roads. The steering is light enough to allow easy parking and darting in and out of small spaces, but the compact footprint makes it less daunting to drive than big MPVs.
Triber is all about packaging maximum utility within a tiny package. The Easy-Fix modular seat system allows swift 2-, 4-, 5-, 6-, and 7-seater interchange. It offers a decent boot capacity when fully occupied, but a huge 625 liters if the third row is taken out, perfect for family holidays or big shopping trips. New two-tone cabin coloring, LED cabin lighting, and a new 8-inch infotainment system add to the in-car atmosphere. Adding 6 airbags and ESP as a feature on its base version further adds to its value proposition of one of the safest cars in this segment.
In the compact MPV segment, the Renault Triber differentiates itself through its unique sub-4 meter footprint and modular 7-seat layout, a combination that rivals like the Maruti Ertiga, Maruti XL6, and Kia Carens Clavis do not offer at this size and price.
While competitors provide larger engines, more premium materials, and additional features like automatic climate control or captain seats, the Triber focuses on affordability, space flexibility, and essential safety. The 2025 facelift further strengthens its position with standard 6 airbags, ESP, and TPMS, features not always standard on costlier rivals, making it a value-driven choice for budget-conscious buyers.
The Renault Triber remains one of the best budget MPVs in India, offering 7-seat flexibility, modular space, and now improved safety with 6 airbags and ESP as standard. Its compact size makes it city-friendly, while the facelift brings a more premium feel. However, the 1.0-liter engine limits outright performance, especially when fully loaded, and the AMT is offered only in the top variant. Still, for families seeking versatility and value, it’s a strong and sensible choice.
1.0-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque.
It can seat up to 7 people.
