The Tata Harrier EV is a 5-seater midsize electric SUV that went on sale on 3 June in India. Although it has the fundamental ICE-based body, it has EV-specific features such as a closed grille and aero alloys. Whether you're driving through the city or facing nature, Harrier EV puts the power in your hands in every move.
The Tata Harrier EV has a range of up to 622 km. Dual-motor all-wheel drive delivers an optimal balance of power and efficiency. Support for fast charging makes it convenient, while regenerative braking contributes to the mileage. It is tuned for smooth highway cruising as well as fast city runs.
The Harrier EV boasts the same strong SUV stance with muscular dimensions and aerodynamic design. It has a length of 4607 mm, width of 2132 mm and a wheelbase of 2741 mm. It boasts a closed grille, fresh new LED DRLs, sci-fi alloy wheels, and a more streamlined rear section. Tata's Gen 2 design serves as the basis for the EV vehicle, which is somewhat better in shape but still has a strong road presence.
The Tata Harrier EV has a modern and premium design cabin with a minimalist dashboard design. It has an expansive floating touchscreen infotainment system, all-digital driver display, and touch-based climate control. The design has the essence of sophistication and comfort due to the use of soft-touch materials, leatherette upholstery, ambient illumination, and a panoramic sunroof.
Comfort and practicality are the priorities, with amenities such as ventilated front seats, driver's seat with power, dual-zone climate, and good boot room. The interior is large enough to accommodate five adults in ease, and functional features such as multiple storage boxes, wireless charging, USB ports in every row, and a high-end audio system make the everyday driving enjoyable.
Safety features include ADAS, such as lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitor, and emergency brake. It also features ESC, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and various airbags.
Tata is likely to roll out the Harrier EV in several variants, but now it is available in only a single variant.
The Tata Harrier EV will come with a top speed of approximately 160–170 km/h due to its two-motor setup with AWD. With Tata's Gen 2 EV platform, the Harrier EV provides a well-balanced ride, sharp handling, and a reduced center of gravity. Look forward to outstanding straight-line stability, less body roll, and quick torque for a punchy drive. The suspension is calibrated for comfort as well as crisp handling, which makes it perfect for Indian highways and city roads both.
The TATA Harrier EV has an average range of 500 km/charge, according to the Tata official website.
