Citroen, like several other mass-market and luxury carmakers, has rolled out the GST benefits directly to customers. With the revised tax structure, Citroen cars have received a notable price reduction in the Indian market.

The French carmaker currently retails four ICE-powered models in India – C3, Aircross SUV, Basalt, and C5 Aircross SUV. Customers can book these models immediately and benefit from the reduced prices.

Citroen Cars GST Price Cut

Model Name Benefit
C3 Up to Rs 84,000
Aircross Up to Rs 50,000
Basalt Up to Rs 1.02 lakh
C5 Aircross Up to Rs 2.7 lakh

The benefits listed are based on the revised GST rates and may vary on model and variant.

Kumar Priyesh, Director of Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said- “The reduction in GST on passenger vehicles is a welcome reform that will expand access to safe, modern, and efficient mobility across India. At Citroën, we remain committed to supporting this initiative by ensuring our customers enjoy the complete benefit of this reduction. By passing on the savings in full, we aim to make our vehicles more accessible across segments, while encouraging new buyers and accelerating adoption during the festive season.”

New GST on Citroen Cars

Below is a detailed list of all the GST changes for four-wheelers depending on their segments:

Car Type Engine and Length New GST Current Total Tax (GST+Cess)
C3 Up to 1200 cc and less than 4 meters 18% 29%
Aircross Up to 1200 cc and above 4 meters 40% 45%
Basalt Up to 1200 cc and above 4 meters 40% 45%
C5 Aircross Above 1500 cc and longer than 4 meters 40% 50%

The GST Council has implemented a consistent 18% tax on all automobile accessories, eliminating earlier variations. This reduced rate is also levied on small hybrid vehicles — petrol (up to 1,200cc/4m) and diesel (up to 1,500cc/4m).

However, luxury vehicles and larger SUVs (above 4m with larger engines) will be subjected to a higher 40% GST, making them more expensive.

Just after the launch of the Basalt X and C3X range, the new GST regime impacting passenger vehicles has caused big price drops in the entire Citroen line. Meanwhile, Citroen electric vehicle prices remain unchanged as the government has kept the GST on electric vehicles steady at 5%.
