New GST on Cars
Below is a detailed list of all the GST changes for Kia’s four-wheelers depending on their segments:
| Car Type | Engine and Length | New GST | Current Total Tax (GST+Cess) |
| Kia Syros Petrol | Cars over 4 metres in length with an engine capacity of up to 1200 cc | 18% | 29% |
| Kia Syros Diesel | Cars over 4 metres in length with an engine capacity of up to 1500 cc | 18% | 31% |
| Kia Sonet Petrol | Cars over 4 metres in length with an engine capacity of up to 1200 cc | 18% | 29% |
| Kia Sonet Diesel | Cars over 4 metres in length with an engine capacity of up to 1500 cc | 18% | 31% |
| Kia Seltos | SUVs (above 4 metres in length with engine capacity exceeding 1,500cc) | 40% | 48% |

The GST Council has introduced a uniform 18% tax on all auto parts, removing previous differences caused by various codes. Small cars — petrol and hybrid up to 1,200cc, and diesel up to 1,500cc, all under 4 meters long — will now be taxed at 18%, down from 28%.
On the other hand, luxury cars, large SUVs (over 4 meters long with petrol engines above 1,200cc or diesel above 1,500cc), will now attract a 40% GST.
Under GST 2.0, the Kia Carnival gets the biggest price benefit, while popular models like the Kia Syros and Kia Sonet enjoy savings of over 10 percent. The Kia Seltos, Carens, and Carens Clavis, however, receive smaller tax benefits of up to 5 percent. The brand also sells two electric models - the Kia EV6 and Kia EV9, prices of which will remain unchanged.
