Reforms to GST have taken effect, which include major overhauls to the automotive sector. Kia announced a while back that it would pass on the benefits of GST cuts to the customers for its entire ICE portfolio. This includes the Korean carmaker's first car in India, Seltos, which made Kia’s foray into our shores possible. In this report, we cover the benefits applicable to all the broad variants of the Kia Seltos due to GST 2.0, comparing their old and new prices along with the price cut.

The Kia Seltos has a new price between Rs 10.79 lakh and Rs 19.80 lakh.
The maximum price cut applicable for Seltos is more than Rs 75,000 for the top trim X-Line.
The price cut ranges from slightly more than Rs 39,000 all the way to over 75,000.
The new prices are already effective.

Kia Seltos: Brief Summary

Launched in August 2019, the Kia Seltos was the Korean automaker's first car in India. It gets three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) engine (115 PS/ 144Nm), a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (160PS / 253 Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (116 PS/ 250 Nm). While all the NA and diesel engines share a 6-speed MT, the turbo engine is limited to an automatic transmission (clutchless manual or DCT). The NA engine and diesel engine come with CVT and AT, respectively.

The cabin of the Kia Seltos comes with features such as a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, dual-dashboard camera, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated front seats and a Bose 8-speaker sound system.

Safety is taken care of with the help of 6 airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) tech such as forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane keep assist and 360-degree camera with dynamic guidelines.

The Kia Seltos measures over 4,000mm with engines smaller than 1,500 cc. Under the old GST regime, the Seltos was taxed at 45% which has now been reduced to 40%.
