Maruti Suzuki Baleno is set to receive a price cut of up to Rs 86,100. This revision comes in the wake of the carmaker passing on the GST benefits to customers, resulting in a price cut across Maruti’s entire lineup. • The starting price of Baleno is now Rs 5.98 lakh, down from Rs 6.73 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Overview

Maruti Baleno is powered by a 1.2-litre engine, which can be had with petrol or CNG fuel. The petrol engine returns an efficiency of 22.35 kmpl with manual transmission and 22.49 kmpl with automatic transmission. The CNG variants return 30.61 km/kg and are only offered with a manual transmission.

The feature suite of Baleno includes an automatic AC with rear vents, a 9-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker ARKAMYS system, an LED lighting system and multiple fast-charging USB ports.

Safety features include 6 airbags (as standard), 360-degree camera with rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors and hill hold assist.

The Maruti Baleno measures less than 4,000 mm and comes with an engine capacity of less than 1200 cc, which categorises it as a small car. Before GST reforms, this segment was taxed at 29% (GST and Cess). The new tax brackets are as follows:
