Maruti Jimny Prices Slashed By Up To Rs 51,900 Due To GST 2.0

Maruti has announced that it will pass the GST benefits to customers, resulting in a price drop across its portfolio. In this report, we discuss the effect of this change on the Maruti Jimny, the carmaker's off-roader. Below are the old and new starting prices along with the maximum price cuts on Maruti Jimny’s variants due to GST 2.0.

Maruti Jimny: Overview

The Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that delivers 104.8 PS and 134.2 Nm. This unit returns a fuel economy of 16.94 kmpl (MT) and 16.39 kmpl (AT). The Jimny comes with a 4WD setup with low-range transfer gear.

Its feature list includes cruise control, push-button start-stop, automatic climate control, a 9-inch touchscreen display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 4 speakers, slip differential and low-range transfer gear.

The safety suite of the Jimny consists of 6 airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, rear-view camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors and day-night IRVM.

The Jimny measures 3985 mm in length and has an engine capacity of more than 1200 cc. Under the old GST regime, a car of this dimension would get taxed at 48%, which has now been reduced to 40%.
