MG India has passed on the entire GST benefit to its ICE SUV range. Although the new GST will come into effect from September 22, 2025, MG has decided to pass on the benefits with immediate effect.
The carmaker currently retails three ICE SUVs in the Indian market – Astor, Hector and Gloster. Customers can start booking their desired model as the benefits are already underway. There is no change in EVs as the government has kept the GST on these models at 5%.
MG Cars GST Price Cut

| Hector Petrol | Up to Rs. 1.49 lakh |
| Hector Diesel | Up to Rs. 1.49 lakh |

Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India said "At a time when demand is set to strengthen, especially around the festive season, our focus is on making our SUVs - Astor, Hector, and Gloster - more accessible and attractive. More than just passing on the benefits, this move reinforces trust, enables easier ownership, and encourages more customers to embrace MG."
New GST on Cars
Below is a detailed list of all the GST changes for four-wheelers depending on their segments:
| Car Type | Engine and Length | New GST | Current Total Tax (GST+Cess) |
| Astor | Cars over 4 metres in length with an engine capacity of up to 1,500cc | 40% | 45% |
| Hector Petrol | Cars over 4 metres in length with an engine capacity of up to 1,500cc | 40% | 45% |

| Gloster | SUVs (above 4 metres in length with engine capacity exceeding 1,500cc) | 40% | 50% |
The new GST makes MG cars more affordable. All of its SUVs now fall under the 40% slab. The Astor has received a price drop of up to Rs 54,000. This makes it more affordable for entry-level consumers. Prices for the Hector and flagship Gloster were dropped by up to Rs 1.49 lakh and Rs 3.04 lakh, respectively.
Hector and Hector Plus benefit from cess removal. Gloster gets the biggest benefit of tax reduction, while MG’s EVs—ZS EV and Comet EV—remain at 5%. The brand also retails two luxury all-electric models namely Cyberster and MG M9 through the premium MG Select showrooms, prices of which will remain unchanged.
