MG Cyberster Sportscar Launching Soon: Price, Range & First Look

MG Motor India is gearing up to launch its eagerly awaited all-electric sports car, the Cyberster, by May 2025. This stylish two-door roadster combines modern electric performance with retro design elements inspired by MG's classic sports cars.

Launch and Availability:

The Cyberster will be available through the company's newly launched luxury network, MG Select, alongside the upcoming MG M9 electric MPV. The Cyberster will come in as a completely built unit (CBU) and will be launched initially in small numbers through 12 MG Select outlets in major cities.

The MG Cyberster has taken its design cue from the iconic MG B Roadster of the 1960s and fuses retro style with advanced design and technology. It will be the fastest car in the company's history and will boast India's first-ever electric scissor doors, combining aesthetic appeal with modern convenience.

Price:

While details concerning pricing have not yet been officially announced, it is expected that the price of the Cyberster would range between Rs 70 lakh to Rs 90 lakh (ex-showroom). Having made its debut in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025, it is expected to be officially launched in the market by May 2025.

Performance and Battery:

The Cyberster will be offered in two versions, and is expected that both of them have a equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack - the single motor setup for the most base variant would provide 335 bhp at maximum output and 475 Nm at uttermost torque-in this way, the approximate claimed range of 507 km per charge would be achieved. The most premium variant comes with a dual-motor layout that generates a whopping 503 hp of peak output and 725 Nm of max torque-with this, the Cyberster is said to travel around 443 kilometers on full charge.

Exterior:

For the exterior styling, the Cyberster retains conventional MG roadster cues while espousing aerodynamic modernity. Standout features include LED projector headlights with integrated DRLs, scissor doors, 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, arrow-shaped LED taillamps, and unique U-shaped light-bar glow contraption on the rear. The buyers will be offered four exterior colours: English White, Cosmic Silver, Inca Yellow, and Dynamic Red.

Interior:

Inside, the cabin boasts a futuristic triple-screen digital layout, comprising a digital instrument cluster, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, and an integrated HVAC display. Premium features include an electrically folding soft-top roof, six-way electrically adjustable sports seats with memory function, a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel with launch control, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system. Further, the experience of driving is offered an exhilarating touch through the paddle shifters for adjustable regenerative braking.

Safety Features:

On the safety front, the Cyberster comes loaded with airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), electronic brake assist (EBA), auto-hold, electronic parking brake, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). In addition, it is provided with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), offering Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring and Speed Assistance System.

MG's entry into the electric sports car segment with the Cyberster combines performance, luxury, and sustainability.
