Tata Nexon Overview:
Tata Nexon comes with three engine options: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol (88.2 PS/ 170 Nm), a 1.5-litre engine (84.5 PS/ 260 Nm) and the same turbo petrol engine with a CNG combo (73.52/ 170 Nm). Depending on the variant, transmission options include 5 and 6-speed MT, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed DCT.
The feature suite of Nexon consists of a 10.24-inch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, a JBL 8-speaker system, an air purifier, a cooled glovebox, and multimedia control on the steering wheel.
Nexon’s popularity rose when it became the first Indian car to receive a 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP’s crash test. It was aided in this endeavour by 6 airbags (as standard), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree camera with front parking sensors, auto dimming IRVM, blind spot monitoring, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps
According to the GST slabs, the Nexon is categorised as a small car due to it measuring less than 4,000 mm in length and is driven by engines with a capacity of less than 1200 cc for petrol and 1500 cc for diesel. The old GST on this segment was 29% (GST+Cess), which has now been reduced to 18%, hence the massive price cut.
| Car Type | Engine and Length | New GST | Old Total Tax (GST + Cess) | Tax Difference |
| Small Car (Petrol) | Up to 1200 cc and less than 4 meters | 18% | 29% | 11% Tax reduction |
| Small Car (Diesel) | Up to 1500 cc and less than 4 meters | 18% | 31% | 13% Tax reduction |
