Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter are the only micro SUVs in our market. These models offer SUV-like comfort in a compact size. Both models get updates every couple of months to keep them fresh and a more lucrative choice. In this report, we compare the two micro SUVs and see which one is a better choice, the Tata Punch or the Hyundai Exter.

The Hyundai Exter gets features such as paddle shifters and hill start assist, which are not present on the Tata Punch. The Indian carmaker, on the other hand, offers cruise control with CNG, rain-sensing wipers and a digital driver display but misses out on dual dashcams and keyless entry.

The Tata Punch has been crash tested by the GNCAP, where it received a full five-star score. The Hyundai Exter, meanwhile, has not been tested by any crash test agency.

Conclusion

Both Punch and Exter are solid choices when you compare their specifications. Tata Punch’s cabin offers a more comfortable experience and an easier entry/exit from the vehicle. Meanwhile, Hyundai Exter offers a more tech-loaded cabin and a larger boot space. Both perform equally well in all road conditions, but Exter offers a more refined engine than the Punch.
