India’s Best-Selling Cars in May 2025 – Top 10 List

The sales figures for May 2025 are out, and the usual leader, Hyundai Creta, has lost the podium. Maruti Dzire took the first position, followed by Ertiga and Brezza. Dzire also saw the highest month-on-month growth, while Tata Nexon saw the steepest decline. Here are the detailed sales figures of the 10 best-selling cars in May 2025.
10 Best Selling Cars In India For May 2025
Maruti dominated the sales last month with 6 out of 10 models belonging to the Indian carmaker:

- Maruti Dzire was the best-selling car in May 2025. The carmaker reported a positive MoM growth of nearly 6.5 percent, which is the highest on this list. It also reported a 13 percent YoY growth.
- Maruti dispatched nearly 16,200 units of the Ertiga, marking slightly over 2 percent growth. Its YoY figures were the highest on this list at 16 percent.
- Maruti Brezza witnessed an 8 percent MoM decline yet retained the third spot. In terms of yearly figures, the SUV witnessed nearly 10 percent growth.
- The Hyundai Creta went from first to fourth position in May 2025. The carmaker reported a MoM decline of nearly 13 percent. The Korean carmaker saw a positive growth in yearly figures.

- Mahindra Scorpio retained the fifth spot despite a 7 percent MoM decline. Mahindra dispatched 14,400 units of the SUV, which marked a 5 percent YoY growth.
- Maruti Suzuki Swift is the only model on this list to witness a negative MoM and YoY. The carmaker sold slightly more than 14,000 units of the premium hatchback
- Maruti dispatched slightly more than 13,500 units of the Fronx, which resulted in an MoM decline of over 5 percent. The crossover SUV, however, saw growth in terms of YoY figures.
- Tata Punch climbed up to the 9th spot in the list of best-selling cars in May 2025. The carmaker reported a growth of 5 percent from last month, however nearly 31 percent decline in YoY figures. The Punch was the second-best-selling car in May 2024.
- Tata sold nearly 13,100 units of the Nexon, resulting in the SUV dropping from 6th to 10th position. The SUV witnessed the highest MoM decline on this list of over 15 percent.
