Electric scooters are inching towards becoming mainstream. They began as small commuters that were best suited for commercial purposes. Times have changed; anyone who travels every day can attest to the fact that electric scooters are becoming a common sight. While it's a point of contention if they are just as convenient as a petrol scooter, one thing is for certain that they are here to stay. So if you are thinking about buying an electric scooter, we compiled a list for you to go through and find an electric scooter which offers the range that suits you the best.

Top Electric Scooters in India and Their Claimed Range

One of the biggest negative points of electric scooters is range anxiety. Nowadays, scooters come with removable packs, fast charging times and improved range. Below are some of the companies that are popular choices among consumers in India and their claimed range:

1. Ola Electric

Ola Electric is a major player in the Indian electric scooter market. The company currently sells two generations of EVs, which come with multiple battery packs. Below is a table compiling all of the Ola scooters in India along with their claimed ranges:

  • Ola offers four battery packs with its third-generation lineup: a 2 kWh, 3 kWh, 4 kWh and 5.2 kWh.

2. Ather Energy

Another household name, Ather Energy, is famous for selling tech-loaded scooters. It offers daily commuters and performance-oriented models. The claimed range, along with the battery pack for the Ather scooters, is as follows:

3. Vida

Vida is Hero’s foray into electric two-wheelers and currently sells two scooters. Its lineup offers affordable scooters ranging from around Rs 60k going all the way up to Rs 1.2 lakh. The claimed range, along with battery packs on offer with top Vida scooters in India, is as follows:

  • Vida V2 Pro offers the highest IDC of 165 km due to its large battery pack of 3.9 kWh.
  • Vida offers two other battery packs, 2.2 kWh and 3.4 kWh.
  • Vida VX2 lineup, which are the more affordable options, comes with 2.2 kWh (Go) and 3.4 kWh packs (Plus) that offer a range of 92 km and 142 km, respectively.
  • Although Vida V2 Lite and V2 Plus are offered with the same packs as the VX2 lineup, they get a marginally better range of 94 km and 143 km, respectively.

4. Bajaj

Bajaj sells a single electric scooter in India based on the old geared scooter Chetak. It shares a similar design philosophy but has been modernised to keep up with current trends. It comes in four variants, and the claimed range of each of them is as follows:

  • The 3501, 3502 and 3503 are paired with the same 3.5 kWh pack; however, the 3503 gets a claimed range of 151km, 2 km less than the other options.
  • Chetak 3001 replaced the 2903 variant, which offered a range of 123 km.

5. TVS

A major automaker in India, TVS’s portfolio is massive when ICE vehicles are considered. Its electric offerings have started to grow as well, with three electric scooters, one of which was launched in August 2025. The claimed range and battery pack of all TVS scooters are tabulated below:

  • TVS iQube comes in a combination of four battery packs: 2.2 kWh, 3.1 kWh, 3.5 kWh and 5.3 kWh.
  • The standard variant comes with three battery packs and gets a range of 94 km, 123 km and 145 km.
  • The ST variant is the only one that comes with a 5.3 kWh pack and can cover 212 km in a full charge, the highest range of any TVS scooter.
  • TVS Orbiter, which is the latest addition to the company's portfolio, comes with a range of 158 km with a 3.1 kWh battery pack. This range is higher than what the iQube gets with the same pack.
  • TVS X is a performance-oriented scooter which comes with a large 4.4 kWh battery and a range of 140 km.

6. Honda

Honda is another big automaker that sells two and four-wheelers in India. The Japanese company currently sells two electric scooters in India, Activa e: and QC1. The Activa e: is the electric version of the best-selling petrol scooter in India, Activa. The battery packs and claimed range of Honda electric scooters are as follows:

7. Ultraviolette

Ultraviolette is famous for making performance-based motorcycles and currently sells a single electric scooter. As expected, this scooter is more suited for spirited rides, and its claimed range and battery pack are as follows:

  • Only the base variant of the Tesseract can be booked as of now. It has a price tag of Rs 1.45 lakh, and deliveries are expected to start in Q2 2026.

Conclusion

This list was made based on the popular scooters and is not an end-all list of all electric scooters. There are other electric scooters which are not as common as these models, such as Komaki XGT X4, Okinawa Praise Pro and ADMS TTX. Electric scooters have come a long way from being considered a gimmick and are starting to compete with ICE rivals. Swappable batteries and an increased range over their predecessors, the list of reasons to avoid electric scooters gets shorter by the day.
