While the Ex-showroom price is easily available, the road tax and insurance costs require a bit of calculation. Let us take an example to understand how to obtain the road tax and insurance cost of a scooters in India.

Calculation:

For reference, assume that the ex-showroom price of a scooters is Rs 1,50,000. To make the calculation easier, let's assume that the road/registration tax is 10% of the ex-showroom price while the insurance is 5%.

Road Tax/Registration: Assuming a 10% road/registration tax, the road/registration tax will amount to Rs 15,000. (1,50,000 X 10%)
Insurance: Assuming a 5% charge for it, the insurance will amount to Rs 75,00. (1,50,000 X 5%)

On-road price= Rs 1,50,000 (ex-showroom) + Rs 15,000 (road/registration tax) + Rs 7,500 (insurance)
